1970年（ねん）から見（み）た 未来（みらい）

みなさん、これは 何（なん）だと 思（おも）いますか。 この名前（なまえ）は、「人間（にんげん）洗濯機（せんたくき）」です。ユニークな デザインと 名前ですね！この カプセルに 入（はい）ると、自動（じどう）で 体（からだ）を 洗（あら）ってくれる そうです。

これは、1970年に 大阪（おおさか）の 万国博覧会（ばんこくはくらんかい）（万博（ばんぱく））で 展示（てんじ）されました。そのころ、日本（にほん）では経済（けいざい）が よくなり、いろいろな 製品（せいひん）が 開発（かいはつ）され、みんなが 一生懸命（いっしょうけんめい） 働（はたら）きました。そして、この万博では、未来の製品が たくさん 展示されました。

1970年の人々（ひとびと）が、明（あか）るい未来を イメージしていたことが わかりますね。最近の 製品は 便利（べんり）ですが、もっと おもしろい デザインが あると いいなあ、と思いました。

What the future looks like in the 1970

What do you think this is? It is called a “Ningen Sentakuki (human washing machine).” What a unique name and design! They say when you enter the capsule, it washes your body automatically.

This was exhibited in the 1970 World Exposition (EXPO) in Osaka. Japan was then in so-called “high growth period,” in which the economy was booming, many products were being developed, and everyone worked very hard. In the EXPO, many future products were exhibited.

We can see that the people in 1970 imagined a bright future. The products of our time are convenient, but I wish we could see more interesting designs.
