今週は「暑中見舞い」を紹介します。

　暑中見舞いは、暑さの厳しい時期に、故郷の両親や、親せき、友人などに出す便りです。 内容は、相手の健康を気遣い、こちらの様子を伝える短いものです。 梅雨が終わる7月中旬頃から、8月7日頃に出します。

　暑中見舞いは年賀状に比べて出す人が少ないので、受け取った相手に大変喜ばれます。 また、夏らしい絵はがきに手書きで書くので、SNSなどと比べると温もりも感じます。

　私も、今年は金魚鉢の絵はがきで暑中見舞いを出しました。 皆様も、日頃会えない人たちに暑中見舞いを出されてはいかがでしょうか。

　暑中見舞いは、暑（あつ）さの厳（きび）しい時期（じき）に、故郷（こきょう）の両親（りょうしん）や、親（しん）せき、友人（ゆうじん）などに出す便（たよ）りです。 内容は、相手（あいて）の健康（けんこう）を気遣（きづか）い、こちらの様子（ようす）を伝（つた）える短（みじか）いものです。 梅雨（つゆ）が終わる7月中旬（ちゅじゅん）頃（ころ）から、8月7日頃に出します。

　暑中見舞いは年賀状（ねんがじょう）に比（くら）べて出す人が少ないので、受け取った相手に大変喜ばれます。 また、夏らしい絵はがきに手書きで書くので、SNSなどと比べると温（ぬく）もりも感じます。

　私も、今年は金魚鉢（きんじょばち）の絵はがきで暑中見舞いを出しました。 皆様（みなさま）も、日頃（ひごろ）会えない人たちに暑中見舞いを出されてはいかがでしょうか。

Summer greeting cards

This week we introduce summer greeting cards.

Shochu-mimai is a letter sent to parents, relatives and friends in our hometowns during the hot season. The content of the letter is a short one, expressing concern for the recipient's health and giving an update on how we are doing. It is sent from mid-July, when the rainy season ends, to around 7 August.

Compared to New Year's greeting cards, hot-summer postcards are sent by fewer people, so they are much appreciated by the recipients. Also, because they are handwritten on summery picture postcards, they feel warmer than those on social networking services.

This year, I also sent a postcard with a picture of a goldfish bowl. Why don't you also send a hot-summer greeting to those you don't see often?
