今週は「山開き 」を紹介します。

　山開きとは、一般の人が登山を許される期間の最初の日のことです。 日本一高い山の富士山では7月1日頃に行われています。

　日本では昔から山には神様が住んでいると信じられていました。 そのため、僧侶 などが修行 のために登ること以外は山に登れませんでした。

　しかし、神様に会うために山に登りたいと言う人が増え、今から250年位前に、期間を決めて一般の人も山に登ることができるようになったのです。 それが山開きの始まりです。 今では、自然を楽しんだり、達成感を感じたりするため登山をする人が多いです。

　この期間以外でも山に登ることはできますが、山小屋が閉まっていたり、寒すぎたりして、適していません。 山開きは安全に登山が楽しめる時期の始まりを知らせるものでもあります。

　今週は「山開（やまびら）き 」を紹介（しょうかい）します。

　山開きとは、一般（いっぱん）の人が登山（とざん）を許（ゆる）される期間（きかん）の最初（さいしょ）の日のことです。 日本一高い山の富士山（ふじさん）では7月1日頃（ころ）に行われています。

　日本では昔から山には神様（かみさま）が住（す）んでいると信（しん）じられていました。 そのため、僧侶（そうりょ ） などが修行（しゅぎょう） のために登（のぼ）こと以外（いがい）は山に登れませんでした。 しかし、神様に会うために山に登りたいと言う人が増（ふ）え、今から250年位（くらい）前に、期間（きかん）を決めて一般の人も山に登ることができるようになったのです。 それが山開きの始まりです。 今では、自然（しぜん）を楽しんだり、達成感（たっせいかん）を感じたりするため登山をする人が多いです。

　この期間以外でも山に登ることはできますが、山小屋（やまごや）が閉まっていたり、寒すぎたりして、適（てき）していません。 山開きは安全（あんぜん）に登山が楽しめる時期（じき）の始まりを知らせるものでもあります。

Japan Mountain-climbing Season

This week, we introduce the 'mountain opening'.

Yamabiraki is the first day of the period during which the public is allowed to climb the mountain. It is held around 1 July on Mount Fuji, the highest mountain in Japan.

In Japan, it has long been believed that gods live in the mountains. For this reason, it was not possible to climb the mountains except for monks and other ascetic practitioners.

However, more and more people wanted to climb the mountains to meet the gods, and about 250 years ago, the general public was allowed to climb the mountains for a set period of time. That was the beginning of the mountain opening. Nowadays, many people climb mountains to enjoy nature and feel a sense of achievement.

It is possible to climb mountains outside of this period, but it is not suitable as mountain huts are closed or it is too cold. The opening of the mountain also signals the beginning of the period when it is safe to enjoy climbing.
