How to enjoy rainy season

Rainy season in Japan

The rainy season starts from the beginning of June until the middle of July in Japan. It's wet and humid and therefore not one of the seasons that is loved by many people here, but there are a few pleasures to be found including hot springs and mountain walks.

However, most people just bear it until it ends, and then the full-blown summer heat takes over.

In this blog from Sakude sensei, who lives in Osaka, you can find some fun ways to enjoy the rainy season.

Read the blog and learn Japanese vocabulary and listen to fluent Japanese from the video.

How to enjoy rainy days

How do you spend your time on rainy days ?

In Japan, the month of June is the rainy season, and there is typically a lot of rain.

There are probably a lot of people who do not go out on rainy days, but recently there are various rain goods you can get to enjoy rainy days. For example umbrellas, raincoats and rainboots. There are many interesting goods, from colorful and cute ones to simpler more practical ones. There are so many products, it is fun just looking at them, and you might even want to go out in the rain.

My child loves to put up an umbrella, wear a raincoat and go out on rainy days.Rainy days can be a bit depressing but going out with these can be fun as well, don't you think ?

Hajimemashite! I am Sakude Emi. I live in Osaka, Japan's second largest city, with my daughters, son and my Brazilian husband. My hobby is cooking, especially dishes from around the world.

My husband and I often talk about how much misunderstanding there is in the world between individuals and between nations. We feel it is these misunderstandings that block smooth human relations. I would like to do what I can to unravel these knots of misunderstanding.

If there is anything you'd like to ask me, even if it's not connected to learning Japanese, please feel free. Let's do our best together. Ganbarou
